BAC Presidential "Making The Difference" Award 2011

Norm and Mary Azevedo have led or very soon will have led trips to every continent in the world.  Norm has been a President of SnowChasers and is currently the FarWest Ski Association International Travel V.P. and has held offices with the BAC and continues to volunteer his time to the BAC.  Mary is currently the President of SnowChasers and Historian of the BAC.  Mary has held the FarWest Ski Association office of Communications V.P. and assists Norm with International Travel.

John Walsh has been an amazing volunteer for many years within the San Francisco Ski Club, Singles League Racing, Singles League, FarWest Ski Association and BAC functions.  John always the first person to step forward and say "what can I help with".  Even when severe health issues came into his life, John never slowed down or missed a beat, John continued with his vision of always making sure that everyone was having a great time.  As an example, this last year, John was a catalyst for fund raising within the San Francisco Ski Club in support of Disabled Sports USA Far West / Wounded Warriors program.

Young Kang is a member of Castro Valley Ski Club. Young has a deep passion for others.  This is evident by what Young has done and continues to do with Fund Raising for Disabled Sports USA FarWest.  Unfortunately, I only have records going back these past three (3) years.  During that time, Young has raised and donated over $8.000.00 for Disabled Sports USA Far West!  Young does this by sharing information about Disabled Sports USA Far West at her work and with the Castro Valley Ski Club.  People generously contribute money to Young that she donates to Disabled Sports USA FarWest.  Young is also an active participant at FarWest Ski Association Ski Weeks.

These four people are excellent examples and recipients of the first ever Bay Area Snow Sports Council Presidential "Making The Difference" Award!
